I couldn't agree with you more Darren and, all I can say, is that I hope more people can be swayed to your/our side of the argument. Everything you mention is indeed very disturbing and this is one of the very core reasons of this blog. I would like to get the word out and hope that a proud, brave leader will eventually emerge.
Please keep speaking up and let's turn this thing around.

For me, my biggest hesitation in making Aliya comes from the Leftist-led government who has no qualms throwing Jews out of homes they legally purchased for the sake of appeasing world opinion. Yesterday, it was Gaza, today, it's Chevron, tomorrow, it will be East Jerusalem and the day after that, it just may be Tel-Aviv.

Why should I move to a country whose own government doesn't believe we have a right to live there and who teaches Jewish children that the founding of the state was a "Nakba"- a catastrophe? Why do we trade tangible assets like land for intangible assets like peace when, as the example with Syria proves, maintaining the military high ground provides us with a situation that is better than peace?
