Misrad Haklita continues to clarify the situation. For new olim - those who are moving here now or those who moved here within the last 5 years, there is no apparent change in the subsidy program. However, for those who have lived here 5-10 years, there are two major changes:

1. If you had applied for this previously - they would only have paid you about 1,800 NIS and not the full 80% up to 10,000 NIS they are now willing to pay.

2. If you don't apply for a course and sign up before Dec. 15, your application will not be processed after Dec. 15...unless they get a new budget. Today is the 15th, so there is not much you can do now, but for those who are just arriving or have recently come to Israel, the good news is that this does not mean your subsidy has been canceled. Stay tuned - hopefully the extension for 5-10 years will also be extended. Feel free to contact us at seminars@writepoint.com if you think we can help.
